All applicants to the seminary must fulfil the following general requirements:
• Be at least twenty (20) years of age.
• Provide satisfactory evidence of sound Christian character and a call of God to a Christian vocation.
• Be recommended by their church and three (3) other recognised Christian workers.
• Take and pass an entrance examination and an interview.
• Meet the academic requirements for entrance as outlined below.
• In order to be admitted as a Baptist, the candidate must have been a member of a Baptist church for at least two (2) years.
• Applicants who are awaiting results at the time of application must submit a photocopy of their entry ticket for the examination, showing the date and type of examination. All results must be received by the Baptist Theological Seminary, Kaduna, before the applicant is invited to the BTSK entrance examinations.
• Candidates for the Master of Arts in Theological Studies programme must hold a B.Th. or its equivalent from institutions approved by the BTSK with a minimum of second class lower performance.
• Candidates are also expected to have at least one year of post-qualification experience.
• It is expected that the candidate has the minimum requirement at ordinary levels as indicated for bachelor's degree programmes.
