Doctor of Philosophy

• The Doctor of Philosophy program is a terminal academic degree designed for those capable of conducting research at the highest level, with a view to becoming independent researchers, scholars, and leaders in various fields of Christian ministry.

• The purpose of the programme is to equip students for academic research, teaching, leadership, and the production of scholarly, creative writing in the fields of biblical studies, theological studies, and practical theological studies.

• The programme is both an academic and research degree with the goal of producing a thesis within 3-4 years of study.

• A minimum of two years of residency is required

• Candidates for the PhD programme must hold an M.Th. or its equivalent from an institution approved by the BTSK, with a minimum average of 60 per cent. Candidates must fulfil the general entry requirements.

• Candidates are also expected to have at least two years of full-time ministry before or after M.Th. This is in addition to the required O-level credits for the undergraduate programs
